PROOFREADING FOR BOARD GAMES AND RPGs
Who is this service for?
Creators of board games or RPGs who want to ensure that their rule books and boards are free of text errors and layout / formatting issues. It should take place at the very end of the process, when your text, graphics, and artwork are all in place.
What’s included?
A detailed letter-by-letter check addressing the following:
- Spelling
- Punctuation
- Grammar
- Formatting
- Layout
- Continuity
- Rulebooks, boards, cards, tokens – I’ll check over everything included in your game.

Any issues identified will be detailed in either comments on a PDF, track changes and comments on Word, or in a separate word document, setting out clearly where they appear. I’m happy to work with you to determine what’s best for your situation.
I’ll also include a style sheet detailing style decisions on punctuation, hyphenation, capitalisation, spelling choices, etc., and information about the dictionary and style guide followed. The style sheet helps ensure that your work is consistent, as well as correct.

“Kate did a wonderful job with editing and proofreading the rules for our board game. We are impressed by her attention to detail and how she managed to bring the rules across in a precise, yet an easily understandable way. She also provided us with her own invaluable thoughts and ideas, which we greatly appreciate. We are looking forward to working with her again in the near future!“
