Fiction manuscripts
Hoping to heighten your horror? Want a final polish on your fantasy? Maybe you’re looking for detailed feedback on the bigger picture?
No matter what you want from the editing process, I can help.
DEVELOPMENTAL EDITING
You’ve finished your manuscript (yay!) and want feedback on the bigger picture before you get down to the finer details. Perhaps you want some expert help to ensure the ending is satisfying, to spot areas where the emotions just aren’t hitting, and to let you know if your book is in line with norms in your genre. A developmental edit will put you on the right track!
EDITORIAL ASSESSMENT
You want feedback on the bigger picture aspects of your story before you get down to the details, but perhaps you’re on a budget or don’t want to commit to a full developmental edit. This report will highlight the strengths and weaknesses of your manuscript, making suggestions to help address any issues identified, and give some personalised advice on what to do next.
LINE AND COPYEDITING
Your story is strong, but you want some suggestions and feedback on your sentence-level writing. How could you ramp up the tension in this scene? Do you tend to fall back on a particular word or phrase too often? Does this sound consistent with your character’s voice? Line and copyediting is for you!
COPYEDITING
Your manuscript is almost ready, but you need someone to check it for clarity, consistency, and correctness as well as any spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. Is it Tuesday two days in a row? Is the haunted location called the “Moonlight Hotel” most of the time, but the “Moonlit Hotel” in a couple of chapters? Is it a dark fairy tale or a dark fairy-tale? Copyediting is the answer!
PROOFREADING
Your manuscript has been thoroughly edited already and you’re looking for a last line of defence against any errors. Want someone to spot “fanatsy” and turn it into “fantasy”? Someone to make sure your quotation marks are in the right place? Someone to find italics where they have no business being? Proofreading is what you need.
ADD-ON: BLURB WRITING
Your manuscript is complete, but you’re struggling to condense your story into a few short paragraphs that will make it stand out to your ideal readers. As your editor, I already know your book inside out, so I can help with that!

Comics and graphic novels
In comics, getting the text right is only one part of a pretty intense process. After all, most other writers never have to worry about art styles, inks, colours, and lettering!
But if you’re here, it’s probably because you recognise how easily typos and other distractions can undermine the rest of your hard work. And I can help with those!
PROOFREADING FOR COMICS
Your comic or graphic novel is almost ready for publication and you’re looking for a last line of defence against errors. Want someone to spot “hororr” and turn it into “horror”? Someone to make sure your lettering doesn’t accidentally stray outside of the balloon? Someone to make sure the green-skinned mutant isn’t described as “blue”? Proofreading is what you need.
LINE AND COPYEDITING FOR COMICS
You have a script and are looking for suggestions on your sentence-level writing (as well as for clarity, consistency, and correctness) before you start lettering. Is this too wordy for a single balloon? Is the haunted location called the “Moonlight Hotel” most of the time, but “the Moonlit Hotel” in a couple of places? Line and copyediting is for you!

Games
If you’re planning to publish a game – whether it’s a board game, TTRPG, or a mobile, PC, or console game – your to-do list is likely overflowing: producing or commissioning artwork, getting the mechanics right, playtesting, and perhaps also printing and manufacturing components… Editing and proofreading may be the last thing on your mind.
But if you’re here, it’s probably because you recognise how easily typos and other distractions can undermine all that hard work. And I can help with those!
PROOFREADING FOR BOARD GAMES AND TTRPGS
Your game is almost ready for publication and you’re looking for a last line of defence against errors. Want someone to spot the typos in your rule book? Someone to make sure the illustrations are in the right place? Someone to ensure that players aren’t told to roll a d6 when there are twenty potential outcomes listed? Proofreading is what you need.
LINE AND COPYEDITING FOR BOARD GAMES AND TTRPGS
You’re looking for some suggestions on your sentence-level writing (as well as for clarity, consistency, and correctness) before you get everything formatted. Do you fall back on a particular word or phrase too often? Do you use both “co-operative” and “cooperative”? Does unclear phrasing make it difficult for players to follow your instructions correctly? Line and copyediting is for you!
PROOFREADING FOR VIDEO GAMES (MOBILE, PC, AND CONSOLE)
You already have all the text for your game and are looking for a last line of defence against errors. Want someone to spot “sowrd” and turn it into “sword”? Someone to make sure all your lines of text meet the width restrictions you’ve imposed? Someone to ensure the spelling of your characters’ names is consistent? Proofreading is what you need!
